FISCHER ARCHITEKTEN

Mannheim – Cologne

Fischer Architects was founded in the 1960’s by Cornelius Fischer in Mannheim based on an approach to architecture that is both responsible and self-assured. In 1998, Claus Fischer became a partner in the office and developed a new strategy aimed at being more responsive to the architectural possibilities of the times.

Claus Fischer, born 1971, refined the strategy of the office most of all by two attributes which can be expressed in the keyword phrases: “Sustainability” and “Agreement on Objectives.” As an internationally-trained architect, he strives in all his projects toward user comfort and conservation of natural resources. Energy saving construction does not automatically mean having to use exorbitantly priced technology. Constructions which are distinguished by their energy efficiency are the result of consistent awareness of site specific conditions.

Moreover, Claus Fischer and his team carefully cultivate a close relationship with their clients, journeymen and fellow architects which creates the right atmosphere for “Agreement on Objectives.” Part of their creed, and one reason the office is so successful, is that at the beginning of every project all the parties concerned proceed along together so that interests, costs and possibilities are sorted out and made clear from the start. In the time until his taking over the leadership in 2006, Claus Fischer so strongly cultivated this dialog-oriented approach among his clientele that it became the trademark of his company.
